a wild week!

leading up to vacation, we had a week filled with celebrations. each was equally enjoyable. packed with fun. I also had a huge week at the office. lots of clients. It took some juggling and extra energy exertion, but I showed up. I showed up for the people that mean something in my life. time is valuable. so do the things that fill you with joy. and give back. give of yourself to people and causes that strike a chord in you.

Here was the week in review:

Casino Night. It was a Masquerade Ball for the Kids n' Community Foundation.

Wednesday night we had dinner with friends at Jose and Sons. the establishment was once Jibarra, but has been rebranded. A nice atmosphere with terrific fare and tasty lemon drop martinis. i forgot to capture the moment with an image. definitely a must-try!

Thursday was a Winery Dinner at Nina's Ristorante
pairings:
Arugula with shaved fennel and parmesan//2012 Sauvignon Blanc
Rigatoni with plum tomatoes & basil//2010 Los Carneros Pinot Noir
Pan Seared Corvina w lemon chili butter, scalloped potatoes and asparagus//2009 Stags Leap District Reserve Cabernet
Flourless Chocolate Torte//2010 Estate Cabernet

and I got to savor each course with these incredible friends!

the very next night, Friday, Eve-eee had a birthday! so we gathered to surprise her. her hubby orchestrated the whole thing. that's a cherry in her mouth. she is forever young!

a fashion tip:
if you have two events in the same week, with different groups, wear the same outfit! I did.

And the grand finale was Saturday evening at the Triangle Wine Experience Gala!
it involved bright red lipstick, inventive foods, fine wine, a spectacular live auction, brilliant entertainment, late night pizza from Pie Pushers & glamorous girlfriends.

when the alarm clock jingled at 4:30am for our flight out of town, I was happy I had snagged a couple of these juices on the way out. Happy + Hale is a Raleigh-based juicing biz. so yum and they worked like a charm!

For a second, I thought you had violet hair in one photo, but it was just a reflection. For the record, you would look great with violet hair. :D
