be cool

Most importantly, be kind to people in the service industry.
There was a time when I worked....
at a flower shop
at a gift shop
at a yogurt shop
at a pizza joint
as a hostess
as a waitress

The hours are tough and the work is tougher. My last night as a waitress, a wonderful couple tipped me $50 to congratulate me on my completion of graduate school and the commencement of my career. I sobbed in the bathroom with gratefulness.
It doesn't take a tip to recognize others. Just offer decency, graciousness & benevolence.
It is a gesture impossible to regret! Give it your all.
